Your Love Street Outdoor Center guide will then lead you on an easy paddle by paddleboard from the mother ship to a beautiful beach at Peck Lake.

Accessible only by boat, this oasis of nature is pristine 1,000 acres created in 1969 to protest nesting sea turtles.

Loggerhead, leatherback and green turtles come ashore at night to dig holes in the beach sand to lay their eggs.

There’s no boardwalks, facilities or lifeguards. A short walk on the surf sand brings you to the beach, which usually is almost deserted.

Dolphins, manatees, shore birds, tropical fish – your friendly LSOC guide on the Pontiac Jupiter will help you spot ’em during your things to do in Pontiki Jupiter adventure.

LOVE STREET OUTDOOR CENTER guides will take you on an hourlong boat ride from Jupiter Inlet waterways on the pristine Intracoastal Waterway to the Preserve on the northern tip of Jupiter Island, where the St. Lucie River enters the Atlantic Ocean.

Make your Pontiki Jupiter reservation here.

After docking at the Preserve, you’ll walk a tree-lined, shady boardwalk through lush mangrove forests and hammocks of live oaks, cabbage palms, paradise trees and wild limes to a neatly preserved Atlantic Ocean beach, a first stop on your Pontiki Jupiter excursion.

Upon arrival at the location you can embark from the mother ship to a beautiful beach at Peck’s Lake or take an easy paddle through a maze of mangrove creeks to a secluded beach at The St Lucie Preserve.

All ages and skill levels are welcome for this Pontiki  Jupiter adventure.

WHAT’S OUT THERE?

Along the 3/4-mile boardwalk at St. Lucie Inlet, you’ll likely see lots of wildlife. There’s long-legged ibises, colorful butterflies, spindly spiders, wide-winged ospreys hunting for fish and raccoons roustabouting through thick mangroves.

The island is an important nesting area for loggerhead, leatherback and green turtles. They come ashore at night to dig holes in the beach sand where they lay their eggs.

You’ll know you are reaching the end of the trail when you hear the waves from the Atlantic Ocean through the thick mangroves.
Step out onto the beach, and you are in your own private paradise.
Peck Lake offers a tranquil beach – with the Intracoastal Waterway on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. After docking on the beach, it’s just a short walk under shady sea grape trees to the ocean side. Be prepared for a rare South Florida experience — a mostly deserted beach!
Boats are the only access the Pecks Lake, located within the Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge.
WILDLIFE AND NATIVE PLANT LIFE IS EVERYWHERE!

Long-billed ibises, whistling ospreys and diving pelicans are looking for lunch.

Snook, pompano and bluefish are caught along the beach. Offshore along the reef, cobia, snapper and mackerel are regular catches.

Live oak, cabbage palm, paradise tree, wild lime and several species of native fern are abundant, along with thick mangroves. Look in the underwater roots for tiny fish hiding from predators.
